My Kids Have the Coolest Daddy in the World

Owen wanted Jimmy to make him a bow and arrow, so tonight after dinner they went off to the woods to get them some aspen branches, and wah-lah! He never ceases to amaze me...

Those arrows look pretty sharp. I'm just sayin.

hey, they gotta grow up sometime. puncture wounds are a rite of passage, right?

Just teach them the thing about leaving the arrow in until you get to the hospital to reduce bleeding. They'll be fine.

Thanks for even knowing that tip! My kids are SO missing out in suburbia!

Yeah, you are supposed to leave it in... unless it is poking out the other side. That's when you have to man-up like John Voight in Deliverance and pull it all the way out the back.

I've got Deliverance scheduled for Owen's viewing when he hits 15. It recommend it be part of any standard homeschooling program.

You just don't want a situation like Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove. If the legs have to be cut off, all you have left is to pay the whore across the street in the saloon to keep playing the piano. Those arrows could be trouble.
