I'm not the smartest girl on the block....

.... but how hard is it to make a zip-line and slide down it? We never got it to work.

Ummm, no instructions, and the belt is from my work'n girl days. Jimmy went skiing with his Dad and Eli, and Owen and I wanted to do something "cool" after we found that long black rope hanging in the garage.

Every time we attempted to slide down the rope we'd go straight to the ground, and Luke would laugh his head off. It was fun, but annoying that I couldn't get it to work! I mean seriously... what's it take to slide down a rope?

You need heavy duty cable Donna, not rope. The rope gives too much. My friend Cheri (who also has 6 dc) has one of these and it is great! Its tons of fun. They attached a disc swing to the bottom of it so the littler ones can wrap their legs around the rope and sit on that on the ride down. Even her 3.5 yo was doing it, but it can hold up to 250 pounds. Maybe a good group Christmas present? http://www.amazon.com/Spring-Swing-Fun-Ride-Super/dp/B000PW3CPI/ref=pd_sbs_t_title_4

You are a very cool mom. But I think you do need cable or something. We need one of those, too.

Honey, zip lines are Guy Territory.

Owen "finds" that long black rope all the time for various projects, but I always manage to "unfind" it for him.
