I've been potty training for about a month now. I've never potty trained before. I tried for a day when Owen turned two and decided it wasn't for me. So my four oldest have all potty trained themselves, all at different times (Owen at age 3; Eli at age 28 months; Scout at age 26 months; Riley at 34 months). I intend to write a book someday called "How to Not Potty Train Your Child and Be a Happy, Care-Free Mama," or I could do "How to Potty Train Your Child in Four Weeks." I'm sure that will be a big seller.
Anyway, yesterday I put away the twins' little portable plastic toilets so I wouldn't have to dump their "stuff" anymore. Now they have to go in the regular toilet. Well, this morning Scout informed me that Carson went pee-pee in her doll's toilet. This toilet is four inches across and the hole is about one and a half inches across. I don't know how she managed to sit on it, but she definitely missed.

Steele liked to randomly pee on the carpet in his room or the rug IN FRONT of the tolite.
Today I let him stand in the car door and pee on the tires of our van parked next to our car..
He's a happy boy.
that is sooooo funny. I am glad to find that someone else has the same memories of potty training that I have. Mostly, nightmares of missed poopies squeeshed to the back of booties and wet underwear stashed in various places.
Well, at least she has the idea of going on the potty.

Too funny! Potty seats are a waste of money. Just sit them on the toilet and let them go. Sounds like you've got the potty training thing down. Happy birthday to Riley and Scout.
A friend of mine started potty training her son at 4 months old. She would bring him to the potty and splash water warm water on him and say "pee pee" when he would pee so that he associates the word with the action. She then progressed to teaching him sign language so that he could let her know when and what he needed to do... She says it saves a ton on diapers...
I just don't see the pros outweighing the cons
Are you coming to LA anytime soon? It was good to see Jimmy, but I hadn't really thought through the whole traveling with 6 children from Colorado - you wouldn't be there thing. I missed seeing you too!
I've heard of people potty training that early, Ammye. It's actually a norm in some countries. It doesn't save me very much money because I'm not one of those that changes the kids' diapers every two hours. :) And since I still have to put the twins in diapers during naps and bedtime, I'm actually only saving probably 60 cents a day! I just got a wild hair one day - I don't know *what* I was thinking!
The next time I'll be in LA is probably Feb/Mar to look at houses. Jimmy and I will probably make a quick weekend visit without the kids.
But when we move there you'll see plenty of me! :) I'm banking on some cooking classes from you!!

I have enjoyed your blog and family pictures! God has been leading me in the same direction in the areas that you mentioned. It was refreshing reading all you had to say.
I have attended 3 of Carol Joy Seid's seminars here in Houston. She has been a blessing for our family. She was in Dallas this year, otherwise, I would have been back for some more of her wisdom. What does she do during her consultations? How often do you talk with her? I am considering that route. I miss her! I feel like God has directed us through many truths she has shared.
I am really glad you sent me a friend request through facebook. I hope to keep up with you! You are a really amazing person. I am glad you are busy doing God's work!
How was the farm visit? Do you have animals now? Are you gardening?
